Mazenta provides sustainability claim scanning, regulatory compliance analysis, and AI readability scoring for brand websites. Our Services include:

• Mazenta Scan: Automated crawling of publicly accessible website content to extract sustainability claims, map them against applicable regulations, and produce compliance reports.
• Partner Dashboard: A monitoring platform for certification bodies to track how their certified brands represent certifications publicly.
• Mazenta Connect (coming soon): A Shopify app that injects verified certification data as structured metafields.

2. Scan Reports and Analysis

Scan reports are generated using AI-assisted analysis of publicly accessible website content. Reports are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute legal advice. Specifically:

• Findings are presented as risk indicators, not legal determinations.
• Reports are based on publicly accessible website content only, not comprehensive audits.
• We recommend consulting qualified legal counsel for definitive compliance guidance.
• Regulatory risk assessments reflect our interpretation of current regulations and may not reflect all applicable requirements in all jurisdictions.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use our Services to harass, defame, or harm any person or organization
• Misrepresent scan results as official legal or regulatory determinations
• Resell or redistribute scan reports without our written permission
• Attempt to reverse-engineer our scanning algorithms or scoring methodology
• Use our Services to gain unauthorized access to any website or system
• Submit false information when creating an account or joining the waitlist

4. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of our Services — including but not limited to our scanning methodology, scoring algorithms, report templates, and brand assets — are owned by Mazenta Labs LLC and protected by intellectual property laws.

Scan reports generated for your use are licensed to you for internal business purposes. You may share individual reports with your legal counsel, compliance team, or board members. You may not publicly publish or redistribute scan reports of other brands without their consent.

5. Website Scanning

Mazenta Scan crawls publicly accessible website content in compliance with standard web crawling practices. We respect robots.txt directives and do not access password-protected or restricted content. If you are a website owner and wish to opt out of scanning, contact us at support@mazentalabs.com.

6. Certification Body Partnerships

Certification body partners who share registry data with Mazenta retain full ownership of their registry data. We use this data solely to verify certification claims and improve the accuracy of our scanning and verification services. Partnership terms are governed by separate partnership agreements.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mazenta Labs LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our Services, including but not limited to: regulatory fines or penalties resulting from reliance on our reports, business decisions made based on scan results, or any inaccuracy in our analysis.

Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that our scanning will detect all sustainability claims, that our regulatory mappings are exhaustive, or that our AI readability scores reflect the perspective of any specific AI agent or platform.

9. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page. Your continued use of our Services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
